SoCal Mountainbiker outperforms Top Gun Fighter Ace in suicidal "final" combat maneuver on streets of California.
All survive.
A secret revealed!

"He was so close you could count the rivets -- if cars had rivets."

A hit-and-run accident occurred Friday, November 25th, 2005,
around 8:35 pm on Mission Road in San Marcos, CA.

In one car -- a Chevy Tracker -- was a soon-to-resign Congressman and former Phantom jet pilot on a suicidal last "mission."

In the other car -- a Honda Passport  -- were two anti-nuclear/peace activists/computer geeks/mountainbikers on their way home from a trip to Fry's Electronics Store and a bite to eat in San Marcos.

Apparently on a final "they'll never take me alive!" joy-ride, the Congressman wildly crossed the line and accelerated straight at the activists, blocking every attempt to prevent a collision.  In the final seconds of the "battle,"  the activist at the wheel of the larger, much slower car -- recognizing the deadly intent of the other driver -- fooled the Congressman into believing he would "stay the course" and let the Congressman smash into him.  But at the last possible moment the civilian swerved to his left side and completely avoided a head-on collision.  The Congressman swerved towards the local residents vehicle, but was unable to complete his attack and was only able to clip the rear portion of the vehicle.  The Congressman then drove off at a high rate of speed.  A part of the Congressman's car came off, which is being used to positively identify the owner of the vehicle, but the driver saw the Congressman resign the next Monday, and immediately realized it was very likely the same person he had seen the previous Friday night, and he expects positive confirmation of the identity of the other driver soon.
